The 17-year-old flew to Madrid earlier this week and visited the Valdebebas training ground where he met his future team-mates for the first time. He then visited Bernabeu to watch Real Madrid take on Villarreal in La Liga on Sunday.

The teenager watched Jude Bellingham's opening goal live from the stadium as Luka Modric produced a marvellous assist. Lucas Vazquez found the veteran midfielder on the edge of the box who in turn lobbed the ball first time towards the England international who found the back of the net. Rodrygo then doubled his team's lead in the 37th minute from Vazquez's assists.
The Modric-Bellingham link-up was a sign of things to come as the pair shone in Sunday's clash, with Brahim Diaz's fine effort in the second half being aded to by the Croatian shortly after as Carlo Ancelotti watched his side put on a dominant display.

While the Brazilian has already reached the Spanish capital he will only be able to officially sign for the club next summer when he turns 18. For now, he has received a warm welcome at his new club, especially from manager Carlo Ancelotti who advised the youngster to enjoy himself at this moment.

With Ancelotti's side able to get all three points from the Villarreal clash, they temporarily reclaim their position atop the league table with 42 points from 17 games. They next face Alaves in La Liga on Thursday.
