A shocking new report from suggests that the Brazil international arrived at the Parc des Princes with an ankle stress fracture, specifically to the fifth metatarsal of his right foot. Neymar then went on to suffer that exact same fracture twice while contracted by PSG – in February 2018 and January 2019 – before having to undergo ankle surgery last March following an issue during the 2022 World Cup.

During six injury-hit seasons with PSG, Neymar played 173 matches, recording 118 goals and 77 assists across all competitions. He also sat out over 100 games due to injury, and fell out with supporters towards the end of his time in the French capital.

Just five matches after signing for Saudi side Al-Hilal in the summer, Neymar ruptured his ACL while on international duty with Brazil.
