Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale scored the equaliser for his team in their 2-2 draw with Barcelona at the Camp Nou in the latest episode of El Clasico on Sunday, and his showing didn’t go unnoticed by Arsenal fans on Twitter, who urged their club to sign the Wales international.
The 28-year-old, who earns £350,000-a-week after tax according to The Guardian, has endured another injury-hit campaign, but he has been more of a regular in the XI in recent months and has scored 16 goals – as well as providing a further eight assists – in 36 appearances in all competitions.
The attacker still has four years remaining on his contract with the La Liga giants, but if Zinedine Zidane wants to shake-up his attack this summer Bale could be on his way.
We asked Arsenal fans to vote on our poll to see whether they would back a summer move for the Welshman, and 65% of those supporters would like to see him arrive at the Emirates Stadium alongside whoever their new manager is going to be.
It looks likely to be a busy summer transfer window for the Gunners, but it remains to be seen whether much work is done on the attack seeing as they already have Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
